1975 Travis Bean TB1000S Aluminium Guitar

From California, a 1975 Travis Bean TB1000S. Machined aluminium neck with no trussrod. Solid koa body. A super heavy electric guitar with seemingly infinite sustain.

Travis Bean was a machinist who started making electric guitars and basses with aluminum necks in 19741. He partnered with Marc McElwee and Gary Kramer to form Travis Bean Guitars, which produced high-end instruments that were praised for their sound but also heavier than other guitars. Some of the models included the Artist, Standard, Wedge, and TB5001.

Some famous musicians who used Travis Bean guitars were Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, and Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones. Sadly, Travis died in 2011 at the age of 63.
